Our Vision, Mission and Values.

Our vision, mission and values express who we are, what we stand for, and the change we are working towards. They reflect the experiences of the community leaders who shaped ACT, and they guide every decision we make. Together, they set out our commitment to putting power in local hands, supporting strong community organisations, and helping locally led priorities grow into lasting, positive change.

Our Vision guides us:

‘it’s a future where power is in local hands, creating better futures nationwide.’

And our mission drives us:

‘it’s to connect local people and organisations with the peer expertise, practical training and accessible funding routes they need to ensure community voices shape the decisions that impact their lives, and that UK policy reflects local knowledge and leadership.’

Our Values

  • We use clear, easy-to-understand language and don’t over complicate what we say we do, because we want everyone to easily engage with and trust our work and access the support they need.

  • We connect people and groups across the UK to build a stronger, more resilient network. Through shared learning and collaboration, local communities work in a joined up way for permanent change.

  • We demonstrate the significant worth of community contributions and volunteer efforts. We attract funding and Local Authority partners together with communities, showing the real impact of working better together.

  • We believe power should be in local hands, because communities know their own needs best and are most effective when they can create their own solutions.

  • We are dedicated to reducing inequalities, building trust, and amplifying unheard voices. This is vital for driving positive change and ensuring all communities have a fair chance to thrive.
